It's been 7 days since I started my 21 Day Challenge - Food Reset! 7 days ago we got rid of the junk and introduced healthy alternatives into our everyday. It has taken a lot of effort to meal plan (which we now love!) and as a result, we feel healthier because we're not leaving dinner until the last minute and making bad choices. How many people get caught up in the trap of dinner being an afterthought? It happens to the best of us. Whenever it happens to us, we end up coming up with quick, unhealthy options from either the grocery store or some sort of restaurant. Although it's only been a week, I feel amazing! I am blown away by how refreshed I feel from cleansing my body from all the junk I was consuming. Don't worry, I weighed and measured myself at the start of the 21 days and I'll provide details after I've completed this challenge. シ Or if you're crazy curious and know me personally, send me a text and I'll tell you.
I also added the 30 Day Ab Challenge to my repertoire alongside my daily dose (minus rest days!) of cardio. Why? Because I feel as though it's time to kick things into high gear! What I love? I love having a social community to rely on! We (my friends!) now have a group of about 30 people on Facebook who have all committed to the 30 Day Ab Challenge. It's been a great space for us to encourage each other, complain about how sore our muscles are, and to lean on each other for support and accountability. Keep it up everyone! ツ
While I've had a great 7 days, I'm conscious of the fact that I have 14 more to go! And then after that, an entire lifetime of making smart decisions for my health.
Today, I'm especially thankful for my support network of friends and family who only want what's best for me and who have jumped onto the good health train! I'm also thankful for the perfect teammate who pushes me to be my best I can be. Thank you for being okay with us slowing down during a race for me to catch my breath (dang allergies & Asthma!) - a lot of people who be frustrated, but you're patience is amazing!
So, here's to another 7 days on the straight and narrow. Another 7 days of beating the pavement or trails. Another 7 days of spending quality time with my little family. Oh, I'm so excited about the next 7 days... Yay!
Want to see what I've been up to lately?
Here's a photo montage of what the past 7 days has looked like for us!
River Trail Bliss! ❤
It was a hot one, but boy was it fun! ツ
When you fail to take the weather report seriously, halfway thru your run you might just feel like Noah!
The good news? It was our fastest pace yet!
The bad news? Parenting fail. We didn't have a rain cover with us. ☹
Although we felt like Noah, we're thankful for God's protection on our
run. When we got caught in the storm, we ran right by the Golf &
Country Club where this damage is.
Photos curtsey of the Golf & Country Club.
Our new Saturday morning routine consists of a big breakfast and then 10 km on the River Trail!
I love Saturdays! ♥
Watching a local street hockey tournament!
5 km + #30dayabchallenge = my kind of Tuesday night!
